I went to Somerset House again today (with mum) to see the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition, it was FANTASTIC! every country, race and subject you can think of was represented, the photographs themselves where stunning (yes I bought the catalogue and another book on architecture). I will definitely be keeping my eye on future events held at Somerset House!

While we were there we also popped into the Courtauld Gallery, I haven't been in decades! many years also I worked briefly in the library (I think is was a work placement thing, I really don't remember exactly this would have been in the 1990s).

The Courtauld gallery is lovely, it holds one of my favourite paintings by Édouard Manet (1832-1883), A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (1882).

A really lovely day, but it was so cold (wintertime again!)
Today I went with mum to the cute exhibition, umm not what I expected, I'm definitely not the target audience, it was very interactive, more for a younger audience, there were videos games, a Hello Kitty disco (I loved all the Hello Kitty memorabillia), interactive machinery and space to snuggle and listen. The exhibition items themselves were very sparse and a mixture of ultra modern art and toys from the 1980s and 1990s.

What really did get to me was the lighting, the space wasn't very well lit, there were lots of flickering lights (I wish there has been a warning about this, I did become quite dazed in certain areas).

I did kind of enjoy it, I really wished there was more...

It did turn out to be a lovely day so we walked from Temple to Tower Hill and had a nice lunch at Hays Galleria
